netgear extender reset will removes all your data including all your personal settings, including extender username , password, network name (ssid) and all the security settings. you can reset an netgear extender to its factory default setting in case you forgot the admin credentials.
you can reset a netgear extender to its default setting with two ways:
by pressing rerset button by using web interface:

make sure that your extender is powered on.
Grab a sharp object like paper clip or pin and locate the reset pinhole on the back of your extender.
Press and hold the reset pinhole for 25-30 seconds.
Then release the reset button and wait until your extender reboots.
Your reset is complete once its rebooted.
Reset with web interface:
Connect the extender to your router.
To get started, open a web browser and type www.mywifiext.net into the address bar.
Fill in your login credentials and press login on the login page that appears.
The page for Netgear genie will display.
Select Other Settings from the drop-down menu under Settings.
To reset, click on reset and then yes.
Now wait a few minutes while the online interface restores your extender to its original settings.
If you successfully reset your extender, you may now set it up.
